Easter Eggs and Renewable Energy

Easter is fast approaching. If you’re anything like me, you’ve already consumed a small child’s weight in Cadbury mini eggs. I really should stick to the high protein chicken version, but the

Cadbury ones are just irresistible. However, scientists in Japan have found a novel way to fuel something besides the human body with chicken eggs. Japanese scientists are exploring the possibility of using chicken egg whites, which are renewable and cheap, to help create clean, carbon free energy.  The egg white’s proteins happen to be well organized and this allows for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution to happen in a more controlled environment. That’s a lot of science terminology, but suffice it to say that this Easter it won’t just be the kids that are collecting eggs.  For a more detailed explanation of this recent energy related egg study, check out this link here.
